School's Out for Summer

What did Cal want to do when he got out of school for summer?  Go to the beach.  We decided to keep it a surprise as his end of school "gift" (it was also part of my Mother's Day present).  We were able to keep it a surprise until Thursday afternoon when a friend of mine asked if he was excited about the beach!  He was still suprised and super excited.  We left as soon as his school program was over Friday a.m.

The Beach Club, Gluf Shores, AL

This is Friday night.  Brady just decided that he wanted to swim UNDER WATER just like Cal.  He was basically swimming by Sunday.  Scared Matt and I to death refussing to wear the water ring, floaties, life jacket.....all because they would not let him go UNDER WATER!!!!!  All he kept telling us is "I go under"!

Sat. a.m.  I'm ready to go to the beach

I'm ready too!

We don't have a picture, because we were all 4 in the water, but Cal loved to jump and ride the waves.  Thought we were not going to get to eat lunch because we could not get him out of the ocean.

Didn't do much playing in the sand.  They wanted to be in the ocean or in the pool.

Cannon Ball! He did this over and over and over again.

A boy at the pool mentioned this shark to Cal.  He could not wait to get to Souvenir City.  Matt and I could not keep from laughing at the excitement of this trip.

This is what Brady wanted to take home.  We told them to each pick something out.  It took Cal, Matt and I all to talk him out of this allegator head.   Thankfully, we ended up with a Pirate sword/gun set.  Matt said he never thought I would beg one of the boys to buy a weapon!

Sunday, after lunch around the pool, the boys still needed a little break before heading back into the pool.  They are watching You Tube on my phone.  How sweet are they?  If I had asked them to sit together for a picture it would have been a nightmare.  They were still experiencing vacation bliss and were really loving each other.

We swam until 3 then headed home.  A much needed little vacation.  It was perfect!

Cal's End of Year Program

Cal's end of year program was called Bug and Animal Parade (songs like "God Made Everything" and "Love Bugs") it was so cute.  The 3/4 year olds were bees and ladybugs.  The 5 year olds were able to pick out a hat with their favorite animal.  Cal picked the dinosaur hat.

This is Cal showing me how he "Roars"

Most of the class...a few had already skipped out

The family....beach bound!!!!

Ted the Turtle

Cal has been "hunting" a turtle for over a month now.  We finally caught one that was trying to cross the road last week.  Cal named him Ted.

So it appears turtles can carry semonila.  I had mommies freaking out that I let them catch a turtle.  We did not touch the turtle.  Boys had to use a stick.  They had so much fun with the turtle for this one little day.  The boys and I had to go to Atlanta the next day and their daddy released Ted.  Forgetting to mention that he released Ted when we got back after bedtime on Tuesday.  On Wednesday morning as we are leaving for school.........."Mommy, the turtle is gone!" I am shocked.  Cal accused me of releasing the turtle.  We leave for school totally upset about Ted being gone.  After I dropped the boys off at school, I give Matt a call to explain that he broke some rule of parenting.  Surely there is a rule about one parent releasing an animal and the other parent being the one to deal with the upset children.

I should have taken a better picture of Ted walking around.

Brooke, the pictures of your turtle were much better.  And your turtle was so clean.

Brady's End of Year Party

Brady's End of School Party was a water party.  These little 2 and 3 year olds had the best time.  There were several little pools set up and a sprikler.  They had popsicles and did bubbles.  For lunch we went back in and had pizza.  What a fun day and Brady had a great year with Ms. Carrie and Ms. Lynn.

The excitement!

I need to mention that I love the way water looks in pictures.  The first one above when Brady is kicking and this one above that has the water spilling over the pool.  I noticed how much I loved how the water looked in the splash park pictures from last weekend.  I may be taking lots of water pictures this summer.

Here is Brady running and jumping in all 5 little pools.

This is Brady going down backwards.  He also tried on his tummy several times.  It was just always to crowded to get the tummy picture.

Last Weekend

Last Saturday was Cal's last t-ball game because we are going to have to miss the real last game this coming Saturday.  He will miss getting his trophy, but hopefully the beach will be a worth it.  Here is Cal with his friends Will and Tate.

Team Green Machine

Just thought this was funny and he will hate me for this one day.

After t-ball we went to the pool because it was so hot at the ball field!!!!!

Brady just chill'n Sunday afternoon.  Matt was doing yard work and Cal and I had a birthday party.

I love this little face!
