22 and Counting

We spent the weekend at Lake Martin with some friends that Matt has known since Trinity. There are 5 families (4 of us live in Montgomery and 1 lives in Atlanta, not too far from my mom). Matt's first lake trip with this group happened the summer before I had Cal. There have been lots of children added to the group, hence the 22 and counting. We are fortunate enough to borrow a 4 bedroom/4bath lake house for the weekend. The parents and kids always have a good time. Here is a picture of 4 of the guys, the picture is missing Brent, Joy and Addie to make the Trinity group complete.

I do need to note that the lake was busy due to Aquapalooza and that CMT will air footage Labor Day weekend. If you happen to watch, look for our friend John Coley who got interviewed. Cal was in heaven because his best friend Will was there and they could play for 3 days straight. Brady just LOVES the lake and LOVES to swim, yes my 2 yo can dog paddle like you would not believe! He needs NO help from Matt or I. If you get near him he will tell you "No helps"! I don't have a picture, but he even rode something called "The Rocket". He got on it with Miss Rosemary and Garrison. I also took a few spins on the rocket. Again, I don't have a picture of Rosemary, Joy and I in all our glory, but we took quite the ride. We were not sure that Rosemary didn't have a neck injury until this a.m.

HHI Part II

And the results are in..............................Brady's favorite thing about the beach was playing with cousin Will and Cal's favorite thing was getting his face painted at the South Beach Marina 3 nights. He had his face painted by a clown named Clappy last year, so he was a little upset when we went and found out she had moved to Harbor Town this year. Thankfully the young girls who were painting this year did a great job! Cal had a thing for the girl who painted his face the first night, so the other 2 nights he would only get in her line.

HHI Part I

Well, 10 days and a lot of miles later we are home. We had a great vacation this year. The boys loved the beach. The picture below is of us at the top of the Harbor Town Light House. If you know where to look, the place we stay is in the background. Before we went to Harbor Town on Thursday we took the boys to Lawton Stables and they walked around the petting farm and rode ponies. We also played on the playground and ate ice-cream at Harbor Town, so it was a big day! Matt gave me a new camera for my birthday before we left, so I was so excited to find out it takes great pictures and is easy to use. I was also able to read 3 books this year (technically one the week before we left and 2 on vacation), something I have not done the past few years. Matt even went to the book store on the island and bought a book to read.

4th of July at Big Canoe

Vacation here we come!
Big Canoe, GA 1st.
Hilton Head, SC 2nd.

The boys HAD to wear mine and Matt's sunglasses.
We spent most of the day swimming.

Cal wanted to make chocolate ice-cream, so Grammy of course said they could. You put cool whip in the ice-cream, so after Grammy was done the boys HAD to have a few bites.

Grammy brought "Sparklers" to do before we left for the fireworks.

Matt and Cal waiting for the fireworks to start.
