Happy Birthday Brady

I'm ready to go!  If it can't be my birthday.... next best thing is for it to be Brady's!

Definitely Spring

It is definitely Spring around here.  We fished, played t-ball and did yard work last weekend.  Matt did not play golf on Friday, so we did a little family fishing.

First, they picked the perfect worm

Matt put the worms on thier hooks.

Practiced our casting

Sat very patiently

"Mommy, see I being patient"

Cal got one first

Beaming!

A carp

Brady snagged a Brim

Maybe I'll feed my fish another worm

We had a 12:00 noon t-ball game and it was HOT!  This was the first game where we tried to give the boys some "coach pitch" balls.  If they didn't hit the coach pitch ball they could still hit off the tee.  Cal hit the coach pitch the first go round, but had to use the tee the second time.  Really proud and excited that he did it the first time.

Trying to keep the other team off 2nd base by just standing on it

Saturday night we were grilling out and going to sit outside when the boys heard the ice-cream truck.  Matt and I agreed they could get an ice-cream and just put it in the freezer until after dinner.

Parenting Activist Groups may say this is a crime.  A 5 & 3 y.o will tell you it is great fun.

We have a mama duck and her babies in our back pond.  They come out for a swim every night at dusk.

A Little of This, A Little of That

Well, after reading some blogs this morning, I am feeling like I need to be a little more creative with some of my blog post.  There are some REALLY creative mommy's out there.  I have to say that I am so impressed with mommies.  They are such good multi-taskers!  Here are a few things that have been going on around here.

We added this to our back patio last week.  Matt was able to watch the Master's while watching the boys in the backyard last Sunday! We have eaten dinner outside every night and been able to watch the news or cartoons!

Brady is having a "superhero" party next weekend.  I thought we were having a batman/jumping party, but my little guy has planned an awesome "superhero" party.  Much cuter for a 3 yo.  He picked out the cutest invitations (I'll take a picture and post next weekend) that have a little brown haired little boy flying in his superhero costume.  Seriously, I was looking for a "jumpy/bouncey" invitation since we were are having it at Pump It Up, but he saw these invitations and said they were what he wanted.  O.K.!  Then we went by Party City and I was most unhappy with the selection, so I came home and started reading and dedided to do primary colors for the plates and napkins and a party favor idea was to make cape's! When we went to pick out his cake (the Batman cake he has been asking about since Oct., the one I was thinking was not going to really match our "theme").  Well, Brady saw a superman cake that looked very similar to his invites and said that was what he wanted.  It was cute and goes along with our "theme".  I am loving Brady and his choices right now!  Back to the capes...I have decided to make cape's for the children.

First, I found out that I needed "Pinking Sheers" to cut with.  I ask my mother and she had several pair as well as my grandmother, but they were old and dull.  Matt's mom had his grandmother's, but they were dull too. So I headed to Micheal's and bought my first pair of Pinking Sheers (with a coupon)!

So far I have cut out 5 hot pink, 5 red and 5 blue cape's.  I think I am going to do 5 more red.  Matt feels strongly that they need a something on the back.  I am planning on putting star's on them this weekend.  We are just going to tie the two corners together around their neck.

FIGURES!!!!!  I don't think I have ever blogged about the amount of superhero figures we have at our house, so I am taking this opportunity to show just a few!  We have figures EVERYWHERE!

Spray Tans!!!!!!  I got one last weekend for La Fete and got so many compliments that I had to post a picture.  I had a little sun from tennis, but needed a little more help.  It is just now (a week later starting to splotch as it is wearing off).  Susan (2nd from right) and I did a spray machine.  Lindsey (in the middle) had a real person spray her.

Sping Break Part II (3 weeks later)

Sat. - We left Montgomery and headed straight to the Ga. Dome to pick up our ING race packets.  There were some fun activities for the kids and both boys actually did the Euro Bungy this time.  Brady had a girl who would put his rope and fling him way up into the air.  Cal's guy just let him jump.  From there we headed to my mom's house to eat and get the boys settled.  Once the boys were settled Matt and I headed downtown to the hotel.  We at to be up at 6:15 for the race.

Sunday - Race Day!!!!  We both had a great time.  The course was really hilly, but still fun.  I finished in 2:07 and Matt finished in 2:14.  Actually both happy with our times based on the course.  We went back to the hotel to get ready and went back to mom's to get her and boys and come back down to the hotel.  Cal could not have been more excited.  After running around the hotel for a few minutes they were ready for the pool.  There was an indoor pool and outdoor heated pool and hot-tub, but it was storming outside, so we were only able to swim inside.  The boys had a blast!  After the pool, Matt, Brady and I headed to a yummy pizza place and Cal and mom ordered room service.  Cal was wanting the whole hotel package, room service and all.

Monday - Happy Birthday Matt!!!!!  The boys were ready to go back to the pool this a.m. and the weather was cold outside, but they did the hot tub and thought it was so cool.  Once everyone got ready, we headed to the Aquarium.  We had been once when Brady was a baby, but Cal had been wanting to go back.  Both boys had the best time.  Most of my pictures are from the perspective of a 5 y o.  Cal carried my camera around and snapped pictures all day (I will try to only post our favorites).  He did a pretty good job.  He is adding photographer to his list of what he wants to be (wrestler, astronaut, scientist (do you love the wrestler part because I do)).

Ready for the 3D movie.

Brady's favorite animal.  Cal's favorite was EVERYTHING!

We came home and had Matt's birthday dinner with cake and ice-cream.  This is Matt's gift from the boys....a Power Ranger tee.  Matt put it on and Cal said, "daddy, you look awesome!"  Cal picked out a bag of sea animals from the gift shop and Brady picked out some sea animals that you had to paint, which is what the boys are doing in this picture.

Tuesday - Fernbank Museum of Nataural History.  The other place Cal has been wanting to go visit again.

Wed. - We spent the day at Big Canoe playing at mom's cabin.

Thursday - Matt started his conference, so the boys and I just played and I waited for "Date Night"!!!!!  We could not decide where we wanted to go for date night, but ended up at Stoney River and had the most delious steak we have ever had.

Friday - Matt had "dentist school" again.  Mom and I took the boys to see How to Train Your Dragon.  Cal loved it.  Brady was scared!  Sat outside with Brady during 1/2 of it.  We then went out to my friend Alicia's house for a relaxing pizza night.  Our friend Kelly and her family came too.  The parents had a great time catching up and the kids had a blast playing.
This is Brady and Kelly's little boy Anderson on the floor.  Alicia's 3 (Drew, Joshua and Anna Caitlin), Kelly's little girl Campbell and Cal on the sofa.
It was too late in the night for anyone to listen to the mommy's telling them to look at the camera!

Sat.- We came back to Montgomery when Matt finished his afternoon class.

Such a fun 2 weeks of good family time.
