2nd Annual Parent's Valentine's Night Out. Notice the new black leather chairs. Also, that is my real china and crystal (thankful it is all dishwasher safe). Last year our church youth group was trying to raise money for a mission trip, so they had a Parent's Night Out on Valentine's Day, so several of us took advantage and had a nice steak dinner at a friend's house. We wanted to do the same thing this year on the Saturday night before V-Day, so we decided that we would get a babysitter for the kids at one house and we would have the dinner here at our house. Last year the couple hosting just said to dress up (the husband almost wore a tux, just b/c that is the kind of guy he is). Due to the snow when the wives asked what the dress was, I decided to try "Ski Resort Chic". Jeans, Sweaters and Boots......well, we got a special treat when John, who almost wore the tux last year walked in wearing his father-in-laws old sweat suit. I fixed a beef tenderloin for the first time and it turned out so yummy! We had a salad, gorgonzola potatos and a big chocolate cake from Costco. Last year we had homemade Chocolate Martini's, but this year we all just brought wine and beer to share and I had a couple of bottles of ChocoVine. ChocoVine is something I discovered at Christmas. I took it with me to Chirstmas Bunko and everyone thought it tasted just like a chocolate martini, only it is red wine with cream and chocolate. Sounds gross, but really good. For some reason I only got pre-dinner pictures except for a quick pic of John eating our app. of cheese fondue. There is a fantastic picture of the kids all asleep on floor at the other house on my facebook profile page. Dinner started at 6:30 and the next thing we knew it was 10:45 (Oops)!
