Saturday Fun and a Haircut

Our last 2 Saturday's have been busy, but fun.  The Saturday before last Cal competed in a Martial Arts tournament.  He takes Taekwondo after school one day a week.  A teacher from a Karate facility comes to his school to give lessons.  Master Flemming pasted out information about a tournament and Cal wanted to do it.  He had to pick two events.  The events he picked were speed kicking and power breaking.  Here he is competing in the speed kicking.

There were 6 or 7 in this group and they kicked against each other until there was a winner.  He did not win, but he was the only one who raised his hand that this was his first tournament.  They all had to raise their hands and shout "VICTORY!"

He did finally break it to come in 4th.  He was one kick short of 3rd.

Baseball is here and Matt thought he needed a haircut.  I do have to admit that he was starting to have Farrah Fawcett hair under his cap when he was running the bases.  So I took him Wednesday afternoon (not to the man who normally cuts their hair, but a place in a strip shop).  After sitting there an hour he looked in a book and picked out a haircut.  I almost had a heart attack, but I let him cut it.

This past Saturday was the 5K and Fun Run at his school (and Brady's too).  Cal wanted to run the 5K this year, so Matt was on run/walk duty with him.  Brady was excited to be doing the Fun Run with his future Wildcat buddies.  Matt let me run by myself. I will say Cal's hair does look cute, just not in this picture, he had spent the night out and I did not bring spray to tame it.  I suggested a hat, he said, "No, I'm running a race."

Brady, Lawson, Flemming and Andrew-who Matt's parents said should have been worn out before even starting the Fun Run. They had run around and jumped during the 5K.

We have Matt's birthday, Spring Break and a lot of baseball coming up.

It is going to get up into the 80's this weekend.

A Boy and His Dog

I caught a really sweet moment between Brady and Luigi today.  I like to call them my 2 four year olds because they fight, get into stuff/make a mess, I have to feed them snacks and they are all over the place.  I really don't know what I would have done this year without Luigi entertaining Brady and playing outside with him since this was our first year with Cal in school all day.   I had to take these through the window because if I had opened the door they would have moved.
